Appearance: Amelia has red hair and brown eyes. despite the usual connection of red hair with Weasleys, Amelia loves her hair, and red has become her favourite colour. She is on the short side, about 5'3".
Personality: At first glance, Amelia is charming, sweet and innocent. She likes people to think that because it works for her. she is, in fact, fairly sweet, she loves animals and flowers, so it's not all of an act. However, she is a little vain, and very self-assured as her big brother taught her that Higgs should make their own rules. While she does have a set of her own rules, she excels at twisting other people's rules to fit her desires.
Family and friends, is, at heart, the only thing really important to Amelia, moreso than anything else in the world. Her loyalty is second to none, and when you cross anyone dear to her, her temper comes out. She never forgets a slight or an insult, and she can hold a grudge like no one's business. She has great intensity and drive, when she sets her mind to something, it gets done. She likes things done a certain way, and likes things to be somewhat "pretty" even if they are only pretty to her.
She is also a bit of a party girl, she smokes sometimes, and can hold her liquor as well as any twenty-something.

History: Born March 23, 1982 to Bertrand and Aline Higgs, life was not easy at the start for Amelia. Her mother's post-partum psychosis didn't help her in parenting, and after Alaine almost killed her in December after her birth, her mother became a nonentity in her life. Her big brother became the main go-to for all sorts of things, including learning to walk and talk.

When she was slightly older, the constantly busy Bertie Higgs hired all sorts of tutors. Amelia's very first sign of magic was in the midst of a temper tantrum, wherein she levitated a cookie jar over a tutor's head and then exploded it. The tutor had minor cuts and quit, and Amelia got a bunch of biscuits out of the deal.

She went through anxiety when Terrence went off to Hogwarts, but after a few months, she got over it, as much as she could, with the help of violin lessons and when she was eleven, headed off as well. She was Sorted into Ravenclaw for her quick wits and number-and-music oriented brain and did well there.

She discovered her attraction towards girls when she was fourteen, and silently pitched a fit and caused some trouble until she had figured it out more fully for herself. After a few weeks when she calmed enough to logic the entire thing out, she decided it wasn't that big a deal. She had a bit of a break when Hogwarts was under reconstruction, but went back to finish her schooling.

Afterwards, she moved out, got her own apartment and shortly after, using some of her parents' money, started a small import-export business called Ruby Angel, after her favourite colour and gemstone. Around this time, she also came out, albeit accidentally to her brother, even though she had never really meant to hide it.
